2015 Summer Meeting

NC Sheep Producers Association – Summer Field Day 
July 11, 2015
Location: Clover C Farm –  Bunn, NC                    Host:  Carvel & Carol Cheves

Clover C Farm, located in Bunn, NC, is a seventh generation farm specializing in sheep and wool production.  The farm takes lambs from birth to market, wool from sheep to shawl, and furnishes club lambs for 4-H showmen all over the state. It is indeed a full spectrum operation.

Agenda:
9:00am- 9:30am – Registration, Refreshments & Trade Show

9:30 – 10:00 – Welcome & Announcements

10:00- 11:00 Session 1: Choose your workshop – all workshops will be offered three times.  Everyone will have the opportunity to attend all three.

· Clover C Farm –Farm facilities tour and how it operates – Carvel Cheves

· Livestock Exclusion, Rotational Grazing & Solar Power Water Systems – Charles Bass, Ag Cost Share Tech, Franklin Soil & Water Conservation District

· From Sheep to Shawl – wool production, processing and marketing – Carol Cheves, Alesia Moore, Glenda Moore

11:00 – 12:00 – Session 2: Choose your workshop – all workshops will be offered three times.  Everyone will have the opportunity to attend all three.  See above for descriptions. 

12:00 noon – 1:30pm Lunch (with Local NC Lamb) & Trade Show

1:30 – 2:30 – Session 3: Choose your workshop – all workshops will be offered three times.  Everyone will have the opportunity to attend all three.  See above for descriptions.

2:30 – 3:30  – NC Sheep Producers Association Business Meeting 

3:30 – Adjourn
