April Fiber Farm Spotlight: Windy Wool Windings

Windy Wool Windings is on a third-generation family farm in Vale, NC. They raise Montadale and Romeldale/CVM on an intensive grass grazing program. The farm’s supplemental grain and hay are fed to the sheep. Windy Wool Windings’ products are wool and meat that are sold at a local farmer’s market, fiber festivals, and online. The raw wool is sold directly to consumers and sent to fiber processing facilities to be made into roving and finished yarns. Each year, we attend fiber festivals throughout the East Coast, including Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in May. Susan Proctor is currently serving as the president of the North Carolina Sheep Producers Association.
