May Lamb Farm Spotlight: A Patch of Heaven Farm

Allen Hoyle started the farm in 1983 as a former school teacher and dairy farmer. It started with wool sheep and moved into Kathadins around 1996. They run about 115 ewes and sell directly to the ethnic market throughout the area all the way to Charlotte. A Patch of Heaven Farm uses community grazing with electric netting to clean up areas throughout the western part of Lincoln County. They have had their sheep at as many as eighteen farms in a season. The ewes return home for lambing through weaning. The Farm also sells at the Foothills Farmers Market in Shelby, NC.

Feel free to contact Allen Hoyle via his email for information about purchasing lamb
