AutoCAD Crack + For Windows

Autodesk, Inc. (now Autodesk, Inc.) is a US technology company headquartered in San Rafael, California that develops products and services for the digital-design market. Since its founding in 1982, it has become one of the world’s largest suppliers of software for 2D and 3D computer-aided design, engineering, and manufacturing. The company develops its own intellectual property, including AutoCAD, a CAD software application. In addition to its desktop CAD software, Autodesk offers AutoCAD Map 3D and BIM 360 software. Autodesk’s cloud-based services are provided by, an Autodesk-owned company that offers web-based and mobile CAD development tools.

Autodesk was founded in 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, by six former employees of Silicon Valley-based systems designer Walter Kline and partner Tom Ball. Kline and Ball created the software application EDSAC to create and manage the Project :42 Microcomputer, which was the world’s first graphical system. The six founders originally wanted to call their new company “Elements Data Systems for Advanced Computing”, but Kline’s brother convinced them to name the company “Autodesk”, the Greek word for “self-acting”, since that was the way the application operated. The original founders developed and distributed the software as a standalone product, but the company eventually shifted to the business model of licensing it to other software vendors.

The first Autodesk products included a tool called Computer Editing System (CES) for mechanical drafting. CES was a three-dimensional graphic package for the Tektronix Corporation’s TMM-80 microcomputer. CES was written by the same team that had developed the CAD application in EDSAC. After the 1982 release of the product, the company shifted its focus to the market for two-dimensional (2D) CAD.

The first release of AutoCAD was called 2D Drafting System, and it was released in December 1982 for the Personal Computer (PC) platform. It was later rebranded as AutoCAD Map 3D. The first release of AutoCAD was a $3,000 application, but Autodesk reduced the price to $2,500, and introduced a new “unlock” version that was available to users free of charge for two weeks.

AutoCAD can be installed on macOS with Homebrew and other installers and offers support for the macOS X Server, Terminal, Screen Sharing, File Sharing, and AutoCAD Map.

Autodesk’s server offering is called Windows Desktop as a Service (WDAS), and is a Citrix XenDesktop-based virtual desktop that is now included with most desktop editions of AutoCAD. AutoCAD’s Server is a software-based toolset that provides server-based support for AutoCAD, allowing users to view, annotate, and even modify AutoCAD drawings. WDA is available in Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 1809 R2, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2016 R2.

There is a native integration of AutoCAD with SharePoint Online, allowing users to connect SharePoint OneDrive for Business locations, including galleries, libraries, and documents. Office 365 Home & Office 365 ProPlus also offer a native integration of AutoCAD with those products. AutoCAD also has a native integration with Visio and PowerPoint.

WDA integrates with AutoCAD, and allows users to download and review all of the drawings in a drawing set, enable remote or local viewing, annotation, and commenting, and the ability to view and change one or more drawings.

AutoCAD works with a variety of data formats, including DXF, DWG, DGN, AI, XDP, KTX, and ETA. DXF is the de facto standard for 3D CAD and 2D CAD and is a native file format for most CAD applications. AutoCAD is also capable of importing/exporting the following DWG file formats: 2D/2.5D, 2.5D/2.5.5D, 3D/3.0, 3.0/3.1, 3.1/3.11, and 3.11. DWG files can be directly imported into CAD with a DWG file import utility that can read from a variety of file formats. DWG files can also be exported in 3D DWG files using Export to AutoCAD DXF. DWG files can also be converted into 2D CAD files using DWG to CAD, and exported in DXF format. There are also third-party applications for creating 3D DWG files and CAD DWG files, such as Integrator3D.

What’s New in the?

Autodesk shares tips on how to use the new Markup Import and Markup Assist features in AutoCAD 2023, as well as several ideas for alternative approaches to importing and incorporating feedback into your designs.

Incorporate existing CAD and BIM data into AutoCAD drawings:

Get started with Enterprise OnDemand, a free cloud-based service that enables you to easily incorporate 3D models, CAD data and site information into AutoCAD drawings.

Using Enterprise OnDemand, you can convert, import and annotate data from any service into a project plan and simultaneously add annotations to the file. You can then incorporate the new information into your drawing. (video: 1:10 min.)
