I’m using codeigniter to upload images.
the problem is that the image is not save in the directory with the correct extension.
i tried to save it first, by using some code and this seems to work fine, the file extension is saved when its save in the server.
i have tried:
header(‘Pragma: public’);
header(‘Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0’);
header(‘Content-Description: File Transfer’);
header(‘Content-Type: ‘.mime_type($data));
header(‘Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=’.$data->name);

but it is still saving with the wrong extension

A:

To save file with its extension you have to set the MIME type before save the file. Then the system knows that the file must be save with that type and with that extension. That is why the image file is saved with extension in mime type. I think that should work fine.
You can get file type like this:
$mime = mime_content_type($file);

You can set the MIME type like this:
